The Wine Lover’s Guide to Successful Tours of Margaret River Wineries

Visiting a winery is a great way to explore the countryside, taste some wonderful vintages and see a different side of life. Western Australia has a burgeoning wine industry, and a visit to some of the top wineries in the Margaret River region is an excellent way to enjoy good wine, great company and a wonderful setting. The thought of visiting a vineyard can be daunting, but bearing the following tips in mind will help you have a memorable experience. First, always make a reservation, or at the very least, call ahead to make sure that it is all right to visit. Most wineries are open week-round, but to ensure a good welcome it is best to make a reservation. This is especially true if you are bringing quite a big group, or if you are hoping for a tour of the facility. Do not assume that you have to find a babysitter for the duration of your visit as many wineries welcome all ages. Some wineries even have play areas and supply non-alcoholic drinks and juice for the youngsters.
